George and Amal Clooney warned over 'challenge' as new role 'sparks concern'
EXCLUSIVE: Following claims that George and Amal Clooney could spend time apart next year for professional reasons, a relationship expert shared what the couple must consider to get through the "challenging" time.
George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney will need to prioritise communication if the actor's new Broadway role leads to time apart, a relationship expert has warned.
From March 2025, George, 63, will make his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, an adaptation of his 2005 journalism drama.
Following the news, a source has claimed that the actor's latest project in New York may result in periods away from his wife Amal, 46, and their seven-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
"Amal has got her hands full with her work as a human rights lawyer and the twins are in school," the insider revealed to New Idea Magazine.
"They won't be able to drop everything and head over every other weekend, even with private jets at their disposal.
"George plans on flying back whenever his schedule allows, but it's not going to be an easy time."
The source added there was "some concern" about how George would handle it if his Broadway debut doesn't go as planned, especially as "Amal won't be directly on hand to pick up the pieces."
Chloé Moreau, a relationship expert at ExpertsEnRencontres, believes that while long-distance can be challenging, the couple's strong foundation will help them if they focus on communication.

"Distance, especially with young children, requires clear communication and a commitment to staying connected," she cautioned.
"George and Amal's ability to balance demanding careers with family life highlights their resilience and deep understanding of one another."
Chloe went on to say that "small but meaningful efforts" such as "regular check ins or consistent routines for their twins" are crucial for maintaining a strong family connection.
She added: "Time apart may even strengthen their appreciation for one another, reinforcing their relationship.
"As long as they prioritise open communication and family, this chapter could serve as a testament to their enduring partnership."
Despite the possibility of George's role leading to time apart, the couple's decade-long marriage has proved just how strong they are.
An insider previously revealed to Heat Magazine that one of the keys to the Clooneys' successful marriage is their independent professional lives.
"One of the big reasons Amal and George work so well together is because they're independently successful and secure in their individual fields," the source claimed.
They went on to say that the pair also benefit from having nannies around at their multiple homes.
With these factors, it seems that temporary long-distance won't be a major issue for the pair.
Representatives for George and Amal didn't respond when approached for a comment by Reach PLC.
