For me, fall dressing is about pared-down luxury, comfort, and a multitude of textures—leather, alpaca, faux fur—topped off with a killer pair of shades. It’s about assembling a simple puzzle of clothing you can easily take apart as you shed layers throughout the day. A leather parka is a great place to start, but don’t shy away from leather pants, either—they add just the right amount of swagger to the essential job of looking hot and chic.

If you want to dress like a ‘60s-era American ranch hand on Monday, there’s no rule that stipulates you can’t dress like a ‘70s-era French rock god on Tuesday—or an ‘80s-era Italian yuppie on Wednesday.
