SDC Customer Parking Regulations

Parking lots near the SDC:
  • Lot 22, located next to the SDC
  • Lot 24, located between Gates Tennis Center and Sherman Field
*NOTE: The lot on the North Side (UP Health System & Rehab Services) is for UP Health/Rehab patients only!

SDC Lot 22 is a Campus Visitor Lot generally used for:

  • Visitor Parking (2 hours maximum as posted)
  • Campus visitors and SDC customers
  • Huskies Club Members (only during home Athletic Events)
  • Faculty/Staff with a ‘Red’ Parking Permit
  • No overnight parking permitted

SDC Lot 22 will be enforced Monday – Friday, 7am-4pm:

  • All students and employees of Michigan Tech have a responsibility to register their vehicles.
  • Any vehicle not registered and/or parked in an unauthorized lot may receive a parking violation.
  • For convenience, SDC members and daily customers (non-students, faculty and staff) have access to free two-hour parking in Lot 22.
    • Parking permits are available for purchase for extended parking options for SDC Lot 22 (overflow to Lot 24) and are as follows:
      • Purchase at Transportation Services, 1st floor Administration Building
        • Daily $5
        • Weekly $20
        • Hang tags (permits) must be clearly displayed from the rear view mirror in the vehicle at all times when parked in Lot 22.

SEC. 5.14 LIMITED PARKING ZONES
When parking meters are erected adjacent to a space marked for parking, such space shall be a metered parking zone and no person shall stop his vehicle in any zone for a period longer than designated on said parking meter without valid payment as specified thereon, except when such requirement is eliminated by an official posted notice. When signs are duly erected indicating that parking on any street or area marked for parking is limited to a specified length of time, although no parking meters are erected adjacent to such spaces, no person shall stop or park his vehicle on such street or area for a period of time longer than designated on said sign.
