rover 400 | show original size
A lovely car to own and drive with Rovers best ever 4 cylinder engines. Surprisingly, it is very economical for a 2.0 138bhp petrol engine. The Rover 400 has lovely sumptuous seats and one of the best Air Conditioning systems. There is plenty of room in the back and the boot is very spacious. It is amazing how much you can get in with the rear seats down. Also, for the size I thought it was quite uneconomical averaging 32mpg on motorways giving a range of approx. 300-320miles to a tank. This along with the insurance grp of 12 gave it an below average score on the running costs.
Head lining and door fabrics are now sagging and have become unstuck from the door. Passenger’s electric window sometimes comes out of the runner when closing but is easily located with a gentle hand to guide it back. Best car to own!
