I believe part of the reason has to do with the lack of information being released. There are two big questions about this shooting. Was there more than one shooter? Did the shooter have help? Enough info has been released to create a beleivable story there was only one shooter. IF, the info is true and not created to cover something up. Part of me does not trust the info released, and the govt agencys releasing it. As far as did the shooter have help? There was a leak about the shooters cell phone locations days prior to the shooting. IF the leak is true. It places the shooter within 1 block of FBI buildings, in two cities. Both times for a prolonged period of time. Which suggests the shooter met with someone. If the shooter did have inside help. We will never know the real truth. Why did the shooter's behavior suggest he was going to get away with shooting a former president? Lots of un-answered questions.
Also, why does his ear look like nothing happened and he was golfing the next day without a bandage. So many unanswered questions

I think it's partially due to all the competing narratives drowning each other out. In that same article, the owner of Gab claims that he has proof that Crooks had an account on the website, the FBI hasn't ruled it out either. The dust hasn't cleared yet.
Problem, too many Congressional Republicans more interested in a sound bite to play on right wing media than in getting the facts. We need a serious and transparent investigation.
