The name already telling you that this anime is not completely soul eater which we all know. Story is about 3 girls (2 meisters and 1 weapon). In the story you can see characters from soul eater (Soul, Maka, Death the kid and more characters). It's little hard where in the story line put this story because we don't how many classes are in the faculty on the school and professor Sid is still human and Maka and Soul are senpai for them.
It's more like weaker anime and for girls.

I wouldn't say it is just for fans, because overall it is good.
The problem is it should have been action anime like SE1, and not some girl mini drama.
There is A LOT of potential but u get like 10% of it.
A reboot will fix it, but until then if u have spare time give it a go.

This is a very light and girly version of Soul Eater that focuses on 3 new girls and their surroundings. A lot of the characters from the original series make minor appearances throughout this series. It's funny, a few episodes in and I kept thinking "wouldn't this have been awesome if all this time, money and resource that went into making Soul Eater Not, had gone into making a sequel to Soul Eater". All in all, Soul Eater Not is an ok and light hearted series, but makes anyone desire more content be made for the original series.

Soul Eater and yet, not Soul Eater. Uses a completely different (but not unappealing) art-style in comparison to the main series (at least the sun and moon are still there.) Despite the fact that it has a more "normal" feel, it is still a show that any Soul Eater fan would enjoy.

As the title suggests, definitely not like the original Soul Eater series. It lacks the distinctive character designs and action focused scenes.
This series is a spinoff that uses the "cute girls doing cute things" model but does have a regular shounen plotline mixed in. However, the plot is deemphasized and the focus is mostly on the characters.
On balance, the voice actors to the main cast do breathe life into their characters.
Recommended for fans who like lighter fare with some action or fans of Soul Eater willing to give it a chance.
