I liked these OVAs - even though I wasn't a too big fan of the original series.
There are only two episodes but they had quite different atmospheres.
The first OVA was more serious since it was a retelling of Ban's & Elaine's story - which I really like a lot since it's so (bitter)sweet.
The second OVA is pure fun. It has loads of short stories of various characters stringed together. I had to chuckle quite often.
All in all I enjoyed watching this OVAs.
