Version watched :english dub

The visuals on this movie are what you would expect from the 'old skool' horror animes, and this one didnt dissapoint with the vivid colouring and nice details. I particularly liked the staple 'city shot' of a gloomy nite time tokyo, none of this cgi poop here just good old smudgey gloom.
the character designs were nice, there was a good balance of super fit mens health front cover types and the more usual body shapes. the expressions and facial features were nicely done (though there is one particularly comical demon face shot of an opened mouth eagle head thing gaping in astonishment)

i watched the english dub, which was pretty average, i think to be fair the voice actors were limited with their material as dialog was not a main focal point in this one.
there wasnt any background music that scared the witts out of me or drowned out speech, so the balance must have been ok, but nothing stood out.
Character: 5
geeez here be the letdown. the story had potential with oodles of good guy bullied turns evil, reincarnated gods/goddesses but it was all underdevoloped and took a back seat to the all round explosive action. It didnt detract from the story any though, but i was left feeling a little empty and lacking in the wooooo i want him to win department.
Value/Enjoyment: 7
I enjoyed it! i love this kind of horror anime where the fights are epic, the monsters are strange and the characters are pretty hopeless. would definately recommend as a horror fan watch, not sure if it would appeal to the anime fans that like a deep involved story or impressive visuals, but id still say for the shortness of it, its definately one to put on the to watch list.
