I was put off by this person's recommendation.
They suggest this is a completely random type anime; the kind where the premise starts ridiculous and everything after is also ridiculous.
"blessed by god of soccer". Aoyama is just naturally skilled, and the scenes of that "god" happen at the end and are a delusion/joke/metaphor.
There isn't an over arching plot, and a lot of comedy happens but it all still follows a continuity.
Not so much that you can't watch out of order but the characters some times say things referencing details mentioned in previous episodes.
The first 5-10 minutes will give you a good idea as to whether or not this anime is for you.
If you like it by then and you're not expecting the series to follow a sports tournament or be all about "playing" the sport, to be the core focus, then you will like the rest of the series as well.
