Anime: Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen

Surprisingly restrained and down to earth in its world building and characters.

Turns out war is complicated, and age-old conflicts can't be easily resolved, even if you're in love, and I respect the show for acknolwedging that instead of just regurgitating tropes.

That's not to say there are not tropes, but at least it's not all there is.

Plot progresses very slowly, not much has changed by the end, not to mention all the cliffhangers.

Nothing outstanding, but no real complaints either, Just an ok genre show.

Interesting premise, but felt like it missed out on a lot of things that could have made the series really good. The focus was much more on the interaction of the two characters, and that's about it. There was some good fights here and there, but what felt like minimal character development.

Opposing empires at war, magic vs sword, a modern advanced world setting
On the opposing sides is an imperial swordsmand, strong but inexperience with feelings; and a powerful witch princess but tsundere, dojikko with feelings

Though the setup & warring plot mainly serves as a stage for the love x rivarly romance btwn MLxFL
We do get balance screentime for fights but the main palette is more of a fuzzy romance btwn the 2 lovebirds but enemies at same time
The occasional cute blushy lover's quarrel, the too convinient of an excuse chanced romantic encounters, the occasional team up together fights does give me those cute fluffy feels - and I totally ship both MLxFL pair

Abit bumpy animation works but has some crispy action scenes; and OMG the female chars are waifus with curves (especially FL and her seiyuu is also Ten-chan!)

Rec for those into enemies x lovers romances or a Ten-chan fan. 7/10 for me, gladly wait for S2

The premise of two nations being at war for many years that involves magic and advanced technology seemed intriguing. This even started well too with a knight and princess of opposing factions meeting each other; unfortunately, this quickly turned into something generic. Its a pity b/c the story was interesting, but was neglected most of the time and focused on melo-dramatic events. Expect a S2 with the unanswered questions still left... but in the end, this is just another generic fantasy anime.
