Took a more slice of school route this season
Personally this 1st half of S2 got a bit too much high school magical, abit too mainstream and conventional
Kinda lost its unique refreshing charm from S1 being the oddball that sets it apart from the pack
Nonetheless it carries its strong point in its story telling and pacing, exposition-ing more background and hints of greater events as we go along, smoothly transitioning the events from S1
More likeable characters introduced, and we still got that warm fuzzy feel of growing and adventuring alongside them though most of adventures are within the school area
It also got very honest with its pervy nature, which when paired with waifu chars, got me grateful for the fanservice
The more slice of school life got me off guard abit, but still much enjoyable watch. And the hype for 2nd half is definitely in me. One point down to 8/10 and must watch if u did S1

What made me give this anime such a high grade was simply the fact that with only 12 episodes it follows the LN storyline faithfully.
This anime is much more "slice of life" type compared to the first season but still leaves me with much desired conclusion to certain parts of the story :)

This continues from where the events of S1 left off and it was cool seeing Rudeus in a new location forming new allies and going on new adventures. Initially the school arc was interesting, but went at a slower pace compared to the beginning to this season. For me, this season started off well, but slowed down towards the middle and end. Still, this is a solid continuation to S1 and I look forward to the 2nd half of this season.

This continues the previous story, a little slower paced as far as the 1st season is concerned but not something that i particularly dislike, just wish it was longer.
This season emphasizes the human aspect of our protagonist, bad decisions, human fragility - coping with loss and psychologically and is sexually explicit. There are fewer action sequences in comparison to the previous season, but I don't think of detractor (assuming they are following the book what they have decided show could just have fewer, paired with pacing). Where other similar stories lock in character development leaving them one dimensional, try to make external events the focus, this story has always had the characters at its center. There is also setup for things to come.
This series leaves a lot of room for the thought and not only is the opening beautiful it matches the story quite well.

A drop from season 1, but still a good watch.

This season is also missing some nice touches like the OP actually being a part of the story. Even though it was usually non essential to the story, it made the episodes feel longer, and upped the production quality in general. I guess you could say they set the hook in season 1 and don't have to try as hard now, but I hope they actually do going forward.

Crippling depression, memes, adventure, new discoveries, and more!

Get ready for a season of mental health awareness PTSD JobRe. Some parts actually being a very good representation of what someone would feel in real life. While I absolutely love the series, this season definitely slowed down and became much more of a slice of life as Rudy deals with mental fallout from the last season. There is still plenty of fan service and non-PC things, being brutally honest with real life, which I absolutely love about the series and the story telling is still really good, but mainly focuses around relationship building.
This is something you generally would find in a anime with more episodes per year, like 24. It has a filler feeling to it, but it's still interesting and definitely has meaningful interactions - it's just not what the other two seasons (one) was about. While I don't mind a season of this, I hope this doesn't continue for another season.
Not a must see, but a worthwhile continuation of the series to see.

Second season of a series that the studio was made to create.
Overall it's fine but it doesn't touch any of the high points that season one hit. The sudden shift in SoL school life is going to filter a lot of casual watchers with it's lowest point of reception for the story. But if you care for the characters and progression of the story you'll enjoy it enough.
This season is PLAGUED with bad direction where even it's best scenes and scenarios is brought down by inconsistent animation, off model characters for no reason, and a huge amount of cut content.
Personal tick, but the voice for Rudeus should change by now since he's significantly older now.
Second Cour should be back with what made this series so highly acclaimmed.
