Shinesman looks more like a parody on stuff like Power Rangers than trying to be serious.
If you consider that, then it's pretty clear that you shouldn't expect too much. 5 people are office-workers, but are also part of the Shinesman-team which is supposed to protect the earth from outer space threats. The fact that they themselves aren't really that eager to protect the earth is part of the parody to me ;)
The animation is old. Although it is not really that bad, it's still not really fun to watch since the animation isn't that well and it just breathes the word 'ancient' at times when you keep watching.
The voices are done decently, but they're not particularly done well either. The sound and songs are done in exactly the same way as they would do something like Power Rangers, which makes it funny at times, but also annoying if you can't stand it.
The story is very easy, in which they try to make the evil boss in her cover meet up with the main hero in his cover and from there on the story starts off. Can you predict the story? I'm sure you can - which is a bad part of this series; it's way too predictable and silly as hell, with fights which don't look serious enough to be taken seriously, but also the fights aren't always silly/funny enough to make this a proper parody. But still, it feels more like a parody than an actual series. Because, if they didn't consider this a parody, then it's even worse than the marks I'm giving out now, with the main character trying to cover his alter ego from his own brother as a sort Clark Kent/Superman.
The characters are cliché and pretty uninteresting. But they do fit the story at least and every now and then they do something funny or silly which might cause you to smile a bit.
I wouldn't recommend watching or even downloading it. Although the 2-episode series might be a parody, it's not nearly good enough to make you appreciate it or even enjoy it for the sake of enjoyment.
