This anime, Good Morning Althea is an old anime, it was released in 1987, and is part of a style that was much in use in those days, as much of the anime today is inserted in a style.
But breaking this as parts:
Story & Character
The story of this anime, not a very deep one, it's based from the point of view of a half-human, half-crest young man, Galroy, and is very straith-forward, young man meets young woman, they fight the evil automaton, and live happy for ever and after, sort of story, and as this is a OVA, there isn't much space for character developing.
But you do get some hints as to the background of the 3 main characters: Galroy a Half-Cresten/Half-Human young man, who isn't very happy with his current situation as being an half-something, Nikolai, an Human, that during the Crest vs. Humans war suffered a lot at the hands of Crests, the reason that he is part cyborg and the reason that he doesn't like Crests, and finally Althea a Crest young woman, that was rescued by the ship in which the former two were serving, and that happened to be the sole survivor of her ship, a ship that was overtaken by an Automaton type-38, these Automatons don't get explained in the OVA, you know that they are there, you know that they are evil, but nothing much.
You get a little of the main characters background, but nothing much, just the standart past things, you also get some insight at what happend in the war between Crests and Humans, but again not much.
But like i said, the story is much linear and easy to follow.
Animation:
This is like i said an 1987 anime, the type of animation used is much like what was widely used back then, remember that old soccer anime, Tsubasa?
Same animation style, and character design, and as the anime involve a lot of dark places and explosions, Mech vs. Mech battles, the animation doesn't look very *clean*, and sometimes it gets very confusing to follow the characters on screen.
But it's not bad, it's just old type.
Sound:
As for sound and music score, i must say that they are very much absent in this anime.
Oh, you have your average sound efects and music, with the hologram music, being the most remarking music in the entire anime, but nothing too striking.
In the overall, you get served the minimal, not that it's bad in this anime, as this minimal somewhat fits the ambient.
Enjoyment:
In the overall, this anime isn't half-bad, it's a so-so anime, worth viewing, you will get entertained for the duration of the anime, just don't expect much.
Value:
There isn't much replay value in this anime, you might watch it again, but i doubt it.
And to sum up every aspect, Good Morning Althea isn't an half-bad anime, it's a so-so anime, as long you aren't expecting much it will satisfy your needs.
