Big Touhou fan, so everything is heavily bias
For a doujin, it is exceptionally done.
The land of (Gensoukyou) & its inhibitants done so beautifully, so colourful & magical. Its mysterious and filled with spritis, youkais, gods & other beings. Each with distinctly varied, unique & quirkly personality & design-wise (though they always ends up drunk). Its exactly how a Touhou fan would imagine. Definitely a treat to see your favourite Touhou chars and incidents come to live in animation
Also music is crazy awesome, everytime I hear it, my soul quivers with excitement, intense energy and profound emotions, it just resonates so well
For non-fans, suggest to research/know the names and relation of the main characters. This anime makes minimal effort with background, thus the plot may seem disjointed
Tbh, am not a Touhou gamer, but I visit every Komiket for the doujin music & artworks. And sure enough I enjoyed the animation & Senya's beautiful voice in the OSTs. 10/10 for me!

For Touhou fans, pretty much. At least try to learn the names of the lead characters before watching this.
Also have fun fandubbing it, as the base releases don't come with vocals at all. Still worth the watch IMO.

A good watch for anyone. Never played a Touhou game but this anime while short is very good quality. We're talking professional quality here.

If you're a fan of Touhou, you'll probably love it as the animation is really well done for a doujin anime and the character are certainly faithful to the original games. But to non gamer such as myself, I was not an astonishing anime experience: the story seems chaotic, lacks dramatic impact and most of all I can really relate at all with the character (Maybe to moe for my taste) ... So it's another case of non stand alone anime where you can or not appreciate the anime depending of your knowledge of the game.
