metalotaku says it's a nice complement to Chihayafuru. I'd agree - this anime sort of shows how Ooe Kanade saw each poem.
There was comedy, of course, a lot of romance and a steady dose of tragedy, a which goes without saying about most historical romance tales. Artwork is lovely, though a bit "unusual", the colours are very soft. Opening and ending are incredibly fitting as well.
