This fanclub is dedicated to historic anime related to World War II and anime that assume different outcome for that war.
Themes of said anime series may vary from Japanese imperialism, holocaust, war on Europe's Western or Eastern front, and present day related phenomena such as neo-nazism.
Related anime is mostly linked indirectly through
Category: World War II
Tag: Nazis
...but some related anime that do not qualify for said categories or tags may be added as related anime. These series contain usually the least amount of historical precision and may limit to use of symbolism or clothing, or it's inverse: similar theme (totalitarism, persecution) without symbolism.
This club is not a fanclub for acts of violence (whether regular warfare or holocaust targeted toward civilians) but only a fanclub toward anime series dealing with controversial topics. Also fandom for anime series that have neo-nazies in them is not a fandom for neo-nazism. (Do acknowledge that neo-nazies are usually mocked in the worst way imaginable in series where they are included as characters.)
I removed the double tank tag and I might get on to updating other tags and checking for noteworthy new series to add (i.e series more related to WW2 than average series tagged under WW2 tag).
"A Blu-Ray release of the entire series is also in the works, with the first set scheduled for release on August 3, 2011.[24] The second and third sets are scheduled to be released on November 25, 2011 [25] and February 24, 2012."

I'm cumming buckets just for expectation of someone actually ripping and fansubbing this. Political incorrectness for teh win.
Seriously, someone has to provide raws now. And subs too. Konpeki no Kantai has manga, anime, novels and even some games related to franchise, yet it has so far been totally ignored.
Pass the word, historical fiction and alternate retelling is one of the best genres out there. It lacks moe and boing and... ok, that alone makes it awesome. NaziImperial Nihon super science makes it beyond comparison.
Indeed. I've been expecting some purely nazi-related moe book to pop up considering all the nazi moe artwork, and non-directly nazi-related moe series (Sora no Oto, Strike Witches, etc.)
Not to mention axis bishies of Hetalia, and cool (but non-moe) Hellsing characters.
soss32, yeah, but if I were to add all anime related to WW2, then what would be the point in related categories and tags? First Squad: The Moment of Truth is present in both World War II category and Nazis tag. World War II contain 36 anime entries. Nazis contain 11. Should they all be added directly as related, instead of indirectly through the categories they represent? Maybe. But if I remember right, there was a guideline telling that instead of lengthy list, clubs should list relations by category.
There is a problem with indirect linking to series. It appears that AniDB doesn't display this club as related club for entries not separately specified. Linking through World War II category or Nazis tag doesn't even get "indirectly related club" relation to anime entry's side, which in turn causes the club to remain secluded.
Maybe I'll add some titles even when they're included through categories and tags, just to fix the links pointing "this way". That is, if there's no rule telling not to add ~40 (or so) titles to related anime.
Added Konpeki no Kantai, Kyokujitsu no Kantai and Shinkai no Kantai: Submarine 707, mostly to promote them so that someone would make subtitles for them. Please do! (Last one isn't alt-reality WW2 but focusing on submarines (that don't have hangars for plasma-knive wielding mechas), it probably caters to the same fan group.)
I think that creating it is more constructive. And the reason why there are so much more shows in the category than with a tag is simple — many of the category shows are not subbed by anyone or really unpopular, so nobody cares to create a tag there.
Zipang was already in related anime but I removed it from related anime after addition of WWII category to related categories. Hint: WWII category is far more extensive collection of WWII related anime than World War II tag.
Is that tag even necessary? Should it be mod removed as totally redundant? Or should we go through all WWII category entries and create and vote up "World War II" tag for each one of them?
That name is probably a better one for the club since hindu symbol 卐 didn't display properly in all lists where club was displayed as related. How'd you like the Haruhi picture? I made that picture once for the purpose of trolling YouTube.
racism is a bit odd anyway. racism, sexism etc. are default themes in anime (even if not displayed in critical ways most of the time) because that's really what most japanese are. the generic black char that appears in like 3 out of 100 series is usually portrayed as a dumb black bull with hardly enough brain to walk straight.
eitherway not very interested in watching racism in series.
ww2 themed series are fun to watch though. even more so if it contains "nazi super science"! not a whole lot of that available in anime though. most of it usually happens in LA movies or games.
