"What is this about? This wiki is a catalog of the tricks of the trade for writing fiction. We dip into the cauldron of story, whistle up a hearty spoonful and splosh it in front of you to devour to your heart's content.
Tropes are devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations. On the whole, tropes are not clichés. The word clichéd means "stereotyped and trite." In other words, dull and uninteresting. We are not looking for dull and uninteresting entries. We are here to recognize tropes and play with them, not to make fun of them.
The wiki is called "TV Tropes" because TV is where we started. Over the course of a few years, our scope has crept out to include other media. Tropes transcend television. They exist in life. Since a lot of art, especially the popular arts, does its best to reflect life, tropes are likely to show up everywhere."
A gathering place for all who might have ruined their lives with TV Tropes or always end up spending more time with the tropes than originally intended.
NEW!: Trope tags now have a new parent tag to hold all tropes not categorized elsewhere: http://anidb.net/t6233
I don't have any good ideas for the games at the moment, but if anyone else has, feel free to make a thread - although with current member numbers there won't probably be much activity at all.
Hi,I've only been watching anime for about 2 years but part of the fun for me when watching any film/show is pointing out various tvtropes (I'm the girl who screams "Draco in Leather Pants" during the early episodes of Xena). Thanks for making this one. Do we have any plans for forum games?
Since there's heck amount of tropes and only some of them exist on AniDB - likely with alternate keywords making the search just harder - I'll gladly add connections to this group by request.
OK then. You can start by adding the glutton tag, which correspnds to the big eater trope. The descriptions are basically the same in both.

Why, o why I hadn't thought of this club earlier? And I always suspected deep connection between trope pages and anidb tags.
Oh well, then I propose we share relevant to anime tropes.
