Okay, we're on an animé website, but I figure, what the heck. Vampire animé and manga don't exactly come in an abundance, so if you want to talk about regular TV shows, movies or books - chat away. I'm sure a lot of you - like me - wouldn't mind getting recommendations about those either.
That being said, here's the first tip: True Blood, season 3, starts airing tonight. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels, and takes place in a version of our world where humans and vampires try to co-exist.
I'd say so, yeah, if you don't mind the heavy southern accent, and the fact that most of the show takes place in a kind of decandent swamp. That aside, though, this show is liked by most of my friends, both male and female, age ranging from 24 to 35.

That doesn't really say if you like it or not.
I like True Blood. It's funny most of the times and the accent is just, well... hilarious. It's a very graphic series though with a lot of sex and a lot of blood, but you kinda get used to it. I watch it together with my Mom and I love it every time she goes: "Oh, God that's just sick! Why am I watching this shit?" And then she continues watching...
I've been watching True Blood legally and subtitled (which helps understanding the Hill Billy talk) on TV for the first 2 seasons but I'm considering leeching my way through season 3 since they won't show it on TV until sometime January next year. That's far, far away...
Well, he did just ask if it was worth the watch, not if I liked it. I do like it, anyway. Bill Compton isn't exactly my favorite vampire in the world, but the show's funny. I've leeched my way through the first seasons and will do the same with the third.
Talking about funny, anyone looking for a stupid-funny show (i. e. funny à la Twilight), should check out Vampire High.
Worth the watch? (haven't turned my tv on for at least a month)
It have been going for well atleast 18 months now. And the series is slow and kinda annoying i admit that they make a fitting in story but its not that overly great. It is mostly for girls i would say seeing as i did not truly like it and only about 20% of all men i have spoken to liked it whilst around 93% of all girls likes it. However the farther in the series you come the worse it gets and the more screwed up silly it turns. And things that you understand already in episode 3 will take til season 3 episode 2-4 before they truly tell you. They also alter the story slightly as it goes and later on they will get so darn bad that you just wanna laugh.
But i recommend to watch six episodes and after that you can judge for yourself.
Another recommendation, though: The original novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. It's one of the best books I've read, and it's not like the movie. The movie's bad, the book is great.
