There are various sources of inspirations: icons, illuminated miniatures, ancient artifacts from the Etruscan to the Byzantine era. The work is based upon contrasts between the mat paper and the ornate parts which come with different textures and degrees of reflection. Textures add a 3 dimensional aspect to the work so it is perpetually changing as you move around it.
