Abbey Fishman Romanek is a judge for the 9th Subcircuit of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. She assumed office on December 1, 2014. Her current term ends on December 7, 2026.

Education

Romanek received an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a J.D. from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law in 1987.[1]

Career

Romanek has worked in several private law firms, focusing mainly on medical malpractice. She was most recently with the Franklin Law Group, and worked with North Shore LAW. She also spent 3 years as an assistant attorney general in the Medicaid Fraud Control Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and was an adjunct professor of law at Chicago Kent College of Law.[1] Romanek was elected to the Cook County 9th Subcircuit on November 4, 2014.
