|I was born to a single mom and raised in inner-city Detroit's 48205 zip code, dubbed "America's Deadliest Zip Code". When I was three, my mom married and her husband later adopted me. My Mom stayed at home. My Dad drove a truck and was active in the Teamsters union.
I attended Detroit Public Schools from K-12, graduating from Detroit Osborn. After graduating, I attended Lake Superior State College (University) on a scholarship before transferring to Michigan State University, where I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. During college, I worked as a bouncer at Dooley's in East Lansing, security at Pine Knob Music Theater, as a private bodyguard, and as a truck driver. I joined the Marine Corps and attended Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia.
Upon graduating from college I attended Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University School of Law), where I graduated second in my class three years later. During law school, I worked for the U.S. Attorney's Office and Chrysler Motors Corporation. Upon passing the Bar, I accepted a position with one of Michigan's most prestigious law firms. After eighteen months I left the firm and started my own firm representing individuals and families throughout Michigan.
In 2001 I moved to Kent County. In 2003 I was hired as an East Grand Rapids firefighter, while continuing to practice law. My three children attended Rockford Montessori, Chandler Woods Charter Academy, and now attend Rockford High School.
- There is simply not another candidate or incumbent who will put the hours in that are necessary to make and keep West Michigan a great place to live and raise a family. The 2022 midterm election was an absolute fiasco and the Republican Party fielded a candidate who had no ties to West Michigan. Our current "representative" has done nothing to benefit our communities and will likely continue to be AWOL until it's time for her to court your votes and your contributions.
- I am a true conservative Republican.
- I will be accessible to voters and constituents both during the election and while in office. My personal cell number is (616) 433-5144.
Proper funding of our military, public safety departments, schools, and veterans.
Reining in the outrageous tax burden on families and keeping taxpayer dollars at home.
Strong Second Amendment protections.
My first job, like many others my age, was a paper route. I delivered the Detroit Free Press in the morning before school and The Detroit News after school. I delivered papers throughout high school.
I am against term limits for Congress. The voters should retain the final decision making ability with respect to the re-election of members of Congress.
