James Paul Pieczonka
James Paul Pieczonka (Republican Party) is a judge for the 12th Subcircuit of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He assumed office on December 1, 2014. His current term ends on December 7, 2026.
Pieczonka ran for re-election for the 12th Subcircuit judge of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Education
Pieczonka received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University. He earned his J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School in 1983.[1]
Career
Pieczonka was an administrative law judge for the Illinois Department of Revenue from 1985 to 1996. Prior to his judicial election in 2014, he was the principal of the Law Offices of James P. Pieczonka, P.C.[1]

General: He defeated James L. Kaplan in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 50.6 percent of the vote.[2][3][4]
Evaluations
The Illinois State Bar Association rated Pieczonka as Not Qualified for election.[5]
2012
Pieczonka ran for election to the Cook County 12th Subcircuit. He was defeated by Andrea M. Schleifer on Nov. 6, 2012 after receiving 46.3% of the vote. He was previously unopposed in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 100% of the vote.[6][7][8]
