|I am a retired educator with experience in junior and senior high math; career and technical education; union apprenticeship tech prep; and business/industry training. My Ph.D. focused on adult education; career and technical education; research and statistics; and public administration. I have participated in community service activities since I was in high school including serving on two church boards, Cub Scout leader, family partner for Habitat for Humanity, president of Missouri Vocational Special Needs Association, etc. I designed, developed and implemented two national exemplary programs serving disadvantaged and handicapped students in career and technical education (one in Harrisonville, MO and the other in St. Louis Public Schools). I am passionate and hardworking. As a lifelong learner, I am always looking for ideas on how to make Missouri, especially House District 156, a better place for all of us to live and raise our families.
- My opponent is one of the most conservative GOP representatives. He introduced MO House Bill 2810 that, if passed, would have criminalized aborting nonviable pregnancies including life threatening ectopic pregnancies.
- Recently the Missouri Legislature passed Senate Bill 727 which expands unaccountable charter schools and increases school vouchers benefiting the wealthy few. This legislation hurts the quality and accessibility of education for 91% o Missouri attending local public schools hitting our rural schools especially hard.
- Missouri deserves better. The current administration and legislature are filled with GOP extremists interested in lowering the number and quality of services for Missourians. They are so interested in lowering taxes for the wealthy few that they neglect the needs of the majority of Missourians.
Education, healthcare especially mental healthcare, prison reform including providing preventative services to stop the school to prison pipeline, increasing taxes on anyone making over $400,000 a year to afford the services and life all Missourians deserve.
