Jay Tibshraeny
Jay Tibshraeny (Republican Party) was a judge for San Marcos District of the Maricopa County Justice Court in Arizona. Tibshraeny assumed office in 2019. Tibshraeny left office on December 31, 2022.
Tibshraeny (Republican Party) ran for election for the San Marcos District judge of the Maricopa County Justice Court in Arizona. Tibshraeny won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Tibshraeny was the mayor of Chandler, Arizona from 2011 to 2019. He previously served as mayor from 1994 to 2002.
Tibshraeny is a former Republican member of the Arizona State Senate, representing District 21 from 2003 to 2011. He served as the planning and zoning commissioner for the City of Chandler in 1980 and on the Chandler City Council from 1986 to 1994. He was vice mayor of Chandler from 1990 to 1994.
Biography
Tibshraeny earned his B.S. in accounting from Arizona State University. His professional experience includes working property management and citrus growing.

Selection method

Judges of the Arizona Justice Courts are each elected to four-year terms. The elections for this court are partisan contested elections.[1] To serve on this court, a judge must be at least 18 years old, a state resident, a qualified voter in their precinct and able to read and write English. A law degree is not required.
2014

The city of Chandler held a primary election for mayor on August 26, 2014. Because there was only one candidate, the general election scheduled for November 4 was called off. Incumbent Jay Tibshraeny was unopposed in the primary election.[2][3]
2010
Tibshraeny was ineligible to run for re-election in 2010 due to Arizona's term limits.
2008
In 2008 Tibshaeny was re-elected to the Arizona State Senate, District 21. He ran unopposed and finished with 77,426 votes.[4] Tibshraeny raised $69,029 for his campaign fund.
