Biography

Bakke earned her B.S. and M.A. in Elementary and Special Education from the University of North Dakota. Bakke's career experience includes working as a special education teacher.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 7, 2014. Incumbent Lonnie Laffen was unopposed in the Republican primary, while JoNell Bakke was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Laffen defeated Bakke in the general election.[2][3][4]

On November 7, 2006, Bakke was elected to the 43rd District Seat in the North Dakota State Senate, besting Duaine Espegard (R).[6] Bakke raised $1,500 for her campaign, while Espegard raised $9,358.[7]
