Jo Lynn Gentry
Jo Lynn Gentry was a judge of the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She left office on January 6, 2025.
Gentry ran for re-election for judge of the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Gentry is an enrolled member of the Navajo tribe. She received a B.S. in criminal justice from Arizona State University in 1985 and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1988.
Gentry began her legal career as an assistant general counsel to the Gila River Indian Community (1994–1999) and as a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Arizona district (1995–1999). She spent the next six years as an attorney with the Attorney General of Arizona (1999–2005) before being appointed to the superior court. She has also served as a judge pro tempore for the Ak Chin Indian Community and Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.[1]
