Mark Greene (Texas)
Mark Greene was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 12th Congressional District of Texas.[1] Greene was defeated in the general election.
Biography
Greene served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He earned a degree and has worked in the field of journalism. In 2000, he ran unsuccessfully for election to Texas' 12th Congressional District.[2]

2014
Greene's campaign website listed Political Reform as his top concern. The website stated, "Mark, who ran for the same seat in 2000, is refusing PAC contributions, and promises to focus on reforming the political system, which he describes as “hopelessly broken.” In addition to reversing the destructive effects of Citizens United, he also cites the hyper-partisanship in Washington, and particularly partisan gerrymandering, as key targets of his political reform efforts." Greene ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 12th District. Greene won the Democratic nomination in the primary on March 4, 2014, with no opposition. He was defeated by incumbent Kay Granger (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[4]
