Background
The group was founded in January 2015 by Doug Truax, who was a Republican candidate in the 2014 U.S. Senate election in Illinois.[2][4]
Campaign activity
2024
During the 2024 election cycle, Restoration PAC ran several television ads opposing Democratic candidates. The PAC ran an ad in Wisconsin criticizing U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D), who was running for re-election in 2024, on immigration policy, as part of a $3 million ad buy in the state.[5] Restoration PAC also ran an ad criticizing Democratic presidential nominee and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris (D) on immigration policy.[6] According to AdImpact, the ad ran on national networks during the first night of 2024 Democratic National Convention evening programming.[6]
2018
As of August 6, 2018, Restoration PAC had spent $5,356,227 during the 2018 election cycle in support of or in opposition to political candidates. Of that amount, $4,176,168 was spent in support of Republican candidates and the remaining $651,374 was spent in opposition to Democratic candidates. The candidate Restoration PAC had spent the most in support of was Kevin Nicholson (R), who unsucessfully ran for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. The candidate Restoration PAC had spent the most to oppose was Tammy Baldwin (D), who ran for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.[7]
2016
During the 2016 election cycle, Restoration PAC spent $2,208,294 in support of or in opposition to political candidates. Of that amount, $1,686,724 was spent in support of Republican candidates and the remaining $521,570 was spent in opposition to Democratic candidates. The candidate Restoration PAC spent the most in support of was Darryl Glenn (R), who was seeking election to the U.S. Senate from Colorado. The candidate Restoration PAC spent the most in opposition to was Hillary Clinton (D), who was running for president.[8]
