1 {A Psalm of David.} LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

1 A Davidic psalm.Lord, who can dwell in Your tent?()Who can live on Your holy mountain?()

1 LORD, who may stay in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy mountain?

1 O Lord, who may lodge [as a guest] in Your tent?Who may dwell [continually] on Your holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

2 He who ()walks with integrity, and works righteousness,And ()speaks truth in his heart.

2 The one who lives honestly, practices righteousness,and acknowledges the truth in his heart()

2 The one who lives with integrity, who does righteous deeds, and who speaks truth to himself.

2 He who walks with integrity and strength of character, and works righteousness,And speaks and holds truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

3 He ()does not slander ()with his tongue,Nor ()does evil to his neighbor,Nor ()takes up a reproach against his friend;

3 who does not slander with his tongue,()who does not harm his friendor discredit his neighbor,()

3 The one who does not slander with his tongue, who does no evil to his neighbor, and who does not destroy his friend's reputation.

3 He does not slander with his tongue,Nor does evil to his neighbor,Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

4 In ()whose eyes a reprobate is despised,But ()who ()honors those who fear the Lord;He ()swears to his own hurt and does not change;

4 who despises the one rejected by the Lord()but honors those who fear the Lord,()who keeps his word whatever the cost,()

4 The one who despises those who are utterly wicked, but who honors the one who fears the LORD, who keeps his word even when it hurts and does not change,

4 In his eyes an evil person is despised,But he honors those who fear the Lord [and obediently worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].He keeps his word even to his own disadvantage and does not change it [for his own benefit];

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

5 He ()does not put out his money ()at interest,Nor ()does he take a bribe against the innocent.()He who does these things will never be shaken.

5 who does not lend his money at interest()or take a bribe against the innocent()the one who does these things will never be moved.()

5 who does not loan his money with interest, and who does not take a bribe against those who are innocent. The one who does these things will stand firm forever. A special Davidic Psalm.

5 He does not put out his money at interest [to a fellow Israelite],And does not take a bribe against the innocent.He who does these things will never be shaken.()
