9 Bible Verses about Affection For God's People

As for the saints (godly people) who are in the land,
They are the majestic and the noble and the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor;

It is for this reason that we are comforted and encouraged.And in addition to our comfort, we were especially delighted at the joy of Titus, because you have refreshed his spirit. For if I have boasted to him at all concerning you, I was not disappointed. But just as everything we ever said to you was true, so our boasting [about you] to Titus has proved true also. His affection is greater than ever as he remembers the obedience [to his guidance] that all of you exhibited, and how you received him with the greatest respect.

Having such a deep affection for you, we were delighted to share with you not only God’s good news but also our own lives, because you had become so very dear to us.

For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus [whose great love fills me].

My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you—

Besides those external things, there is the daily [inescapable] pressure of my concern for all the churches.

But we behaved gently when we were among you, like a devoted mother tenderly caring for her own children. Having such a deep affection for you, we were delighted to share with you not only God’s good news but also our own lives, because you had become so very dear to us.

We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we pray always for you,
