24 Bible Verses about Being Afraid

For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but a spirit of power and of love and of self-control.

"Peace I leave with you. My own peace I give to you. It is not the world's 'Peace' I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Now we know that all things continually work together for good to those who love God, to those who have been the called according to his purpose.

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but fear rather him who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

"And which of you by taking anxious thought can add a cubit to his height?

If any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him ask it from the God who gives to all men freely and without upbraiding; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without wavering; for he who wavers is like a surge of the sea, wind-driven and tossed.

"Blessed are those who have been persecuted in the cause of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

My brothers, when you are beset by various temptations, count it all joy, because you know that the testing of your faith is working out endurance. But let endurance have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, not lacking in anything.

"Do not then be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own anxieties. Enough for each day are its own troubles."
