Woe be unto them that are wise in their own sight, and think themselves to have understanding. Woe be unto them that are cunning men to sup out wine and expert to set up drunkenness. The same voice spake, "Now cry." And I said, "What shall I cry?" Then spake it, "That all flesh is grass, and that all the beauty thereof, is as the flower of the field. When the grass is withered, the flower falleth away. Even so is the people as grass, when the breath of the LORD bloweth upon them. Nevertheless whether the grass wither, or the flower fade away: Yet the word of our God endureth forever."

Man that is born of a woman hath but a short time to live, and is full of divers miseries. He cometh up and is cut down like a flower. He flyeth as it were a shadow, and never continueth in one state.

And why care ye then for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They labor not, neither spin: And yet for all that, I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his royalty, was not arrayed like unto one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow shall be cast into the furnace, shall he not much more do the same unto you, O ye of little faith?

I will heal their obedience and will love them of mine own accord: for my wrath is ceased from them. I will be as dew to Israel, and he shall flourish as a lily, and stretch out his roots as Lebanon.
