And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of witness to speak with him, he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of witness: even from between the two cherubims he spake unto him.

And make two cherubims of thick gold on the two ends of the mercy seat;

and graved thereon Cherubs, Palm trees and flowers, and covered them with gold made plain by a ruler.

Above over the heads of the beasts there was a firmament, which was fashioned as it had been of the most pure Crystal, and that was spread out above upon their heads:

Above the firmament that was over their heads, there was the fashion of a seat, as it had been made of Sapphire. Upon the seat there sat one like a man. But the glory of the LORD removed from the Cherubims, and came upon the threshold of the house: so that the temple was full of clouds, and the court was full of the shine of the LORD's glory.

Then the glory of the LORD was lift up from the threshold of the temple, and remained upon the Cherubims.

And within the quyre he made two Cherubims of olive tree, ten cubits high apiece, and every wing five cubits long: so that from the uttermost part of one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits. So that the wings of the said Cherubs raught twenty cubits. And they stood on their feet and looked inwards.

And all the walls of the house round about, he garnished with work of Cherubs and palm trees and graven flowers, both within in the quyre and without in the temple. And the floor of the house he covered with gold both within in the quyre and also without in the temple. There were Cherubims and date trees made also, so that one date tree stood ever betwixt two Cherubims. One Cherub had two faces, the face of a man looking aside toward the date tree, and a lion's face on the other side. Thus was it made round about in all the house; Yea, the Cherubims and date trees were made from the ground up above the door, and so stood they also upon the wall of the temple.

And upon the doors of the temple there were made Cherubims and date trees, like as upon the walls: and a great thick balk of wood was before on the outside of the porch.
