Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
And they assembled in the church a whole year, and taught much people: and the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.
And they went forth and preached every where, the Lord co-operating with them, and confirming the word by miracles following upon it. Amen.
Herein is my father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples.
So Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples, that she had seen the Lord, and that He had said these things to her.
He answered them, I have told you already, and ye would not hear? why would ye now hear it again? have ye also a mind to be his disciples?
But He turned about and looking on his disciples reproved Peter, saying, Get thee behind me Satan; for thou savourest not the things of God, but the things that be of men.
After these things the Lord appointed also seventy others, and sent them two and two before Him, into every city and place, whither He himself was about to come.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me:
Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew;
And when Jesus had made an end of giving orders to his twelve disciples, He departed from thence to teach and preach in their cities.
so he turned and said to them, If any man come to me, and does not comparatively hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple.
And the disciples came to Him and said, Why dost thou speak to them in parables?
his disciples remembered, that He had said this to them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Therefore said Jesus to the Jews that believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, ye are indeed my disciples.
His disciples say unto Him, if the case of a man with his wife be thus, it is not adviseable to marry:
And it came to pass on one of the days that He went into a ship, Himself and his disciples, and He said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the lake.
From this time many of his disciples went away, and walked no more with Him.
saying, Do you say, that his disciples came by night, and stole Him away, while we were asleep.
This rumor therefore was spread among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: though Jesus did not say that he should not die, but--- if I will that he stay till I come, what is that to thee?
And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he attempted to associate with the disciples: and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
About this time as Jesus passed through the cornfields on the sabbath-day, his disciples being hungry began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat them.
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and follow me, cannot be my disciple.
And He called unto Him his twelve disciples, and gave them power over impure spirits, even to cast them out; and to cure all diseases and every malady whatsoever.
Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple, but we are the disciples of Moses: we know that God spake to Moses:
But another of his disciples, whom he ordered to follow Him, said unto Him, Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father:
Then Jesus called his disciples to Him and said, I am moved with compassion to the multitude, for they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: I will not let them go away fasting, least they faint in the way.
And Jesus turning, and seeing them following Him, saith unto them, What do ye seek? They said unto Him, Rabbi (that is to say, Master,) where is thine abode?
And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, as Elias did?
And He said to the disciples, the time will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see it.
And He calleth unto Him the twelve, and sent them forth two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits;
and Simon Peter saith unto them, I will go a fishing, and they say to him, We will also go with thee. So they went out, and forthwith entered into a ship: and that night they caught nothing.
and He saith unto them, Come with me, and I will make you fishers of men:
But John answered Him and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, who doth not follow us; and we forbade him, because he followeth not us.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but allow me first to go and take my leave of my family.
Simon Peter and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together:
And He was in the stern asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, art thou under no concern that we are perishing?

Verily, verily I say unto thee, When thou wast younger, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst about where thou wouldest: but when thou art old, thou shalt stretch out thine hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee where thou wouldest not. This He said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had said this, He saith unto him, Follow me.
So, every one of you, that doth not give up all that he hath, cannot be my disciple.
Whosoever then shall own me before men, I also will own him before my Father, who is in heaven: but whosoever shall disown me before men, him will I also disown before my Father who is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to bring peace but division. read more.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: and those of a man's own family shall be his enemies. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that would save his life shall lose it; and he, that loseth his life for my sake, shall find it.
