The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments;
His praise endures forever.

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

The Lord knows the thoughts of man,
That they are a mere breath.

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
