To the Immortal King, ever-living, invisible, the one God, be ascribed honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
This will be brought about in his own time by the one ever-blessed Potentate, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords,
They are singing the song of Moses, the Servant of God, and the song of the Lamb-- 'Great and marvelous are thy deeds, O Lord, our God, the Almighty. Righteous and true are thy ways, Eternal King.
After John had been committed to prison, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the Good News of God-- "The time has come, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the Good News."
At that time Jesus began to proclaim-- "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."
From the time of John the Baptist to this very hour, the Kingdom of Heaven has been taken by force, and men using force have been seizing it.
Jesus, however, said to them: "I must take the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the other town also, for that was why I was sent."
But, if it is by the hand of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God must already be upon you.
The Law and the Prophets sufficed until the time of John. Since then the Good News of the Kingdom of God has been told, and everybody has been forcing his way into it.
Then will come the end-when he surrenders the Kingdom to his God and Father, having overthrown all other rule and all other authority and power.
Then the seventh angel blew; and loud voices were heard in Heaven saying-- 'The Kingdom of the World has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.'
"Rabbi," Nathanael exclaimed, "you are the Son of God, you are King of Israel!"
'Say to the daughter of Zion--"Behold, thy King is coming to thee, Gentle, and riding on an ass, And on the foal of a beast of burden."'
Meanwhile Jesus was brought before the Roman Governor. "Are you the King of the Jews?" asked the Governor. "It is true," answered Jesus.
"Are you the King of the Jews?" Pilate asked him. "It is true," replied Jesus.
"My kingly power," replied Jesus, "is not due to this world. If it had been so, my servants would be doing their utmost to prevent my being given up to the Jews; but my kingly power is not from the world." "So you are a King after all!" exclaimed Pilate. "Yes, it is true I am a King," answered Jesus. "I was born for this, I have come into the world for this--to bear testimony to the Truth. Every one who is on the side of Truth listens to my voice."
And have been harbored by Jason! They say that some one else is king--a man called Jesus!"
while of the Son he said-- 'God is thy throne for ever and ever; The scepter of his Kingdom is the scepter of Justice;
They will fight with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings; so, too, will those with him who have received the Call and are chosen and faithful.
and on his robe and on his thigh he has this name written-- 'KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.'
The child shall be great and shall be called 'Son of the Most High,' and the Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David, And he shall reign over the descendants of Jacob for ever; And to his kingdom there shall be no end."
David, after obediently doing God's will in his own time, 'fell asleep and was laid by the side of his ancestors, and did undergo corruption; But Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, did not undergo corruption.
While Jesus was teaching in the Temple Courts, he asked: "How is it that the Teachers of the Law say that the Christ is to be David's son? David said himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit-- 'The Lord said to my lord: "Sit at my right hand, Until I put thy enemies beneath thy feet.'" David himself calls him 'lord,' how comes it, then, that he is to be his son?" The mass of the people listened to Jesus with delight.
Before the Pharisees separated, Jesus put this question to them-- "What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" "David's," they said. "How is it, then," Jesus replied, "that David, speaking under inspiration, calls him 'lord,' in the passage-read more.
'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand, Until I put thy enemies beneath thy feet"'? Since, then, David calls him 'lord,' how is he David's son?"
But Jesus said to them: "How is it that people say that the Christ is to be David's son? For David, in the Book of Psalms, says himself--'The Lord said to my lord: "Sit at my right hand, Until I put they enemies as a stool for thy feet."'read more.
David, then, calls him 'lord,' so how is he David's son?"
And has raised up for us the Strength of our Salvation In the House of his servant David--
Brothers, I can speak to you the more confidently about the Patriarch David, because he is dead and buried, and his tomb is here among us to this very day. David, then, Prophet as he was, knowing that God 'had solemnly sworn to him to set one of his descendants upon his throne,' looked into the future, And referred to the resurrection of the Christ when he said that 'he had not been abandoned to the Place of Death, nor had his body undergone corruption.'read more.
It was this Jesus, whom God raised to life; and of that we are ourselves all witnesses. And now that he has been exalted to the right hand of God, and has received from the Father the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, he has begun to pour out that gift, as you yourselves now see and hear. It was not David who went up into Heaven; for he himself says- -'The Lord said to my master: "Sit on my right hand, Till I put your enemies as a footstool under they feet."' So let the whole nation of Israel know beyond all doubt, that God has made him both Lord and Christ--this very Jesus whom you crucified."
After removing him, he raised David to the throne, and bore this testimony to him--'In David, the son of Jesse, I have found a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my purposes.' It was from this man's descendants that God, in accordance with his promise, gave Israel a Savior--Jesus;
