And everyone who has given up home or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms, for my sake, will receive many times as much, and in addition will be in possession of eternal life.

Anybody who gains his lower life will lose the higher life, and anybody who loses his lower life for my sake will gain the higher life.

So I tell you, my friends, never be afraid of those who kill the body but after that have nothing more that they can do.

So, dearly beloved, since you have been forewarned, you must always be on your guard against being led astray by the errors of lawless men, and so against falling away from your present firmness;

Also we do not want you to have any misunderstanding, brothers, about those who are falling asleep, so as to keep you from grieving over them as others do who have no hope.
