"Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet, not my will but always yours be done!"
Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work.
I cannot do anything by myself. As I get orders, so I judge, and my judgment is a just one, for I am not trying to do my own will but the will of Him who has sent me.
Then I said, 'See, I have come, just as the Scripture writes about me in the book, O God, to do your will.'"
But He said to them, "To other towns also I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God, for that is what I was sent to do."
And He said to them, "Let us go somewhere else, to the neighboring towns, to preach in them, too, for that is why I came out here."
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has consecrated me to preach the good news to the poor; He has sent me to announce release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind; to send the downtrodden away in liberty and to announce the year of favor from the Lord."
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the people that are lost."
Then Jesus left there and slipped away to the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. And a Canaanite woman of that district came out and pleaded, saying, "Do pity me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is suffering horrors from a demon." But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came up and kept begging Him, "Send her away, for she keeps on screaming after us."read more.
But He answered, "I have been sent only to the lost sheep of Israel's house." But she came and bowed to Him, and kept praying, "Lord, help me!" He answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the house dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs usually eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, wonderful is your faith! You must have what you want." And her daughter was cured at that very moment.
Then He left there and went into the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house and wanted no one to know that He was there. But He could not escape public notice. On the contrary, a woman, whose little daughter had a foul spirit, at once heard about Him and came and flung herself at His feet. She was a heathen who spoke Greek and had been born in Syro-Phenicia. And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her daughter.read more.
But He was saying to her, "Let the children first eat all they want, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it out to the house dogs." But she answered Him, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs under the table usually eat the crumbs the children drop." Then He said to her, "Because you have said this, go home; the demon has gone out of your daughter." She went home and found her daughter lying in bed, and the demon gone out.
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinful person who repents than over ninety-nine upright people who do not need any repentance.
Just so it is not the will of my Father in heaven that a single one of these little ones be lost.
Just so, I tell you, there is joy among the angels of God over one sinful person who repents!"
I have glorified you down here upon the earth by completing the work which you have given me to do.
But He said to them: "Go and tell that fox, 'Here I am, driving out demons and performing cures, today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will finish these tasks.
This world is now in process of judgment; the prince of this world is now to be expelled.
After this, as Jesus knew that everything was now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, "I am thirsty."
So whether I am at home or away from home, it is my constant ambition to please Him.

The second is like it: 'You must love your neighbor as you do yourself.' The essence of the whole law and the prophets is packed into these two commands."
Then one of the scribes, on hearing them arguing, came up, and since he saw that Jesus had answered them properly, he asked Him, "What sort of command is the first of all commands?" Jesus answered, "The first one is, 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with your whole heart, your whole soul, your whole mind, and your whole strength.'read more.

Just then an expert in the law got up to test Him by asking, "Teacher, what shall I do to get possession of eternal life?" And He answered him, "What is written in the law? How does it read?" Then he answered, "You must love the Lord your God with your whole heart, your whole soul, your whole strength, and your whole mind, and your neighbor as you do yourself."read more.
He said to him, "You have answered correctly. Continue to do this, and you will live."
This is my command to you, to keep on loving one another as I have loved you.
And so these three, faith, hope, and love endure, but the greatest of them is love.
But the aim of your instruction is to be love that flows out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
Dearly beloved, if God has loved us so, we ought to love one another too. No one has ever seen God; yet if we practice loving one another, God remains in union with us, and our love for Him attains perfection in our hearts,
You must keep on having salt within you, and keep on living in peace with one another."
Finally, brothers, goodbye! Practice the perfecting of your characters, keep listening to my appeals, continue thinking in harmony and living in peace, and the loving, peace-giving God will be with you.
also keep up your ambition to live quietly, to practice attending to your own business and to work with your own hands, as we directed you,
Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptize them into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to practice all the commands that I have given you. And I myself will surely be with you all the days, down to the very close of an age."
But now I count as nothing the sacrifice of my life, if only I can finish my race and render the service entrusted to me by the Lord Jesus, of faithfully telling the good news of God's favor.
In this matter it has ever been my ambition to tell the good news where Christ's name had never been mentioned, so as not to build upon foundations laid by other men,
For if I do preach the good news, I have no ground for boasting of it, for I cannot help doing it. Yes, indeed, I am accursed if I do not preach the good news.
preach the message, stay at it in season and out of season; convince, reprove, exhort people with perfect patience as a teacher.
until we all attain to unity in faith and to perfect knowledge of the Son of God, namely, to a mature manhood and to a perfect measure of Christ's moral stature;
For those on whom He set His heart beforehand He marked off as His own to be made like His Son, that He might be the eldest of many brothers;
And all of us, with faces uncovered, because we continue to reflect like mirrors the splendor of the Lord, are being transformed into likeness to Him, from one degree of splendor to another, since it comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
So, since we have such promises as these, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles our bodies and spirits, and in reverence to God carry on our consecration to completeness.
After this I looked, and there was a vast throng that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and they cried in a loud voice: "Our salvation is due to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb."
For it is my Father's will that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and that I shall raise him to life on the last day."
Let me tell you a secret. We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised with bodies not subject to decay, and we shall be changed.
For I who am still in my tent am sighing beneath my burdens, because I do not want it to be put off but to put on the other over it, so that my dying body may be absorbed in life. Now it is God Himself who has put the finishing touches on me for this change, because He has given me the Spirit as the first installment of future bliss.
then those of us who are still living will be caught up along with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord, and so we shall be with the Lord forever.
Dearly beloved, we are now God's children, but what we are going to be has not been unveiled. We know that if it is unveiled, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; if there were not, I would have told you, for I am going away to make ready a place for you. And if I go and make it ready for you, I will come back and take you to be face to face with me, so that you may always be right where I am.
Now the will of Him who sent me is this, that I should lose none of all that He has given me, but should raise them to life on the last day.
