Make not thy boast of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what may happen today.
Wherefore I perceive, that there is nothing better for a man, than to be joyful in his labour, for that is his portion. But who will bring him to see the thing that shall come after him?
For who knoweth what is good for man living, in the days of his vain life, which is but a shadow? Or, who will tell a man what shall happen after him under the Sun?
And why? A man knoweth not what is for to come: for who will tell him?
For man knoweth not his time, but like as the fish are taken with the angle and as the birds are caught with the snare: Even so are men taken in the perilous time, when it cometh suddenly upon them.
A fool is so full of words, that a man cannot tell what end he shall make. Who will then warn him of it that shall follow after him?
Give part sven days, and also upon the eighth, for thou knowest not what misery shall come upon earth.
Of this be sure, that if the good man of the house knew what hour the thief would come: he would surely watch, and not suffer his house to be broken up.
And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, and know not what shall come on me there,
and yet cannot tell what shall happen tomorrow. For what thing is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
The secrets pertain unto the LORD our God and the things that are opened pertain unto us and our children forever, that we do all the words of this law.
It is the honour of God to keep a thing secret; but the king's honour is to search out a thing.
He answered, "Go thy way Daniel, for the words shall be closed up and sealed, till the last time:
But of the day and the hour, knoweth no man: No, not the angels which are in heaven: neither the son himself, save the father only.
And no man in heaven nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
And when the seven thunders had spoken their voices, I was about to write. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, "Seal up those things which the seven thunders spake, and write them not."
But of the tree of knowledge of good and bad see that thou eat not: For even the same day thou eatest of it, thou shalt surely die.
Jesus answered and said unto him, "What I do, thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter."
Now we see in a glass, even in a dark speaking: but then shall we see face to face. Now I know unperfectly: but then shall I know even as I am known.
which mystery in times past was not opened unto the sons of men as it is now declared unto his holy apostles and prophets by the spirit:
Dearly beloved, now are we the sons of God, and yet it doth not appear what we shall be. But we know that when it shall appear, we shall be like him. For we shall see him as he is.
