'Inflicting' in the Bible
So Joshua and the Israelites finished inflicting a terrible slaughter on them until they were destroyed, although a few survivors ran away to the fortified cities.
The prophet found another man and said to him, “Strike me!” So the man struck him, inflicting a wound.
behold, Yahweh is inflicting a great plague on your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions,
‘Should I lift my head up, You would hunt me like a lion;And again You would show Your marvelous power against me.
I will punish their rebellion by beating them with a club, their sin by inflicting them with bruises.
