'Mindful' in the Bible
Be mindful of His covenant forever,The promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,
“They refused to listen and obey,And did not remember Your wondrous acts which You had performed among them;So they stiffened their necks and [in their rebellion] appointed a leader in order to return them to slavery in Egypt.But You are a God of forgiveness,Gracious and merciful and compassionate,Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness;And You did not abandon them.
“For He performs what is planned (appointed) for me,And He is mindful of many such things.
What is man that You are mindful of him,And the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him?
He has remembered His covenant forever,The word which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,
The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless,He will bless the house of Israel;He will bless the house of Aaron.
Because you [Judah] have forgotten the God of your salvationAnd have not remembered the Rock of your Stronghold—Therefore you plant lovely plantsAnd set the grounds with vine slips of a strange god,
Therefore be continually alert, remembering that for three years, night or day, I did not stop admonishing and advising each one [of you] with tears.
In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’”
So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers).
But one has [solemnly] testified somewhere [in Scripture], saying,“What is man, that You are mindful of him,Or the son of man, that You graciously care for him?
But remember the earlier days, when, after being [spiritually] enlightened, you [patiently] endured a great conflict of sufferings,
By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments.
For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey].
But he said to me, “Do not do that. I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets and with those who heed and remember [the truths contained in] the words of this book. Worship God.”
