Charm (Japanese: あまえる Spoiled Pout) is a non-damaging Fairy-type move introduced in Generation II. Prior to Generation VI, it was a Normal-type move. It was TM29 in Pokémon Sword and Shield and is TM002 in Generation IX.
Effect
Generations II to V
Charm is a Normal-type move. It lowers the Attack stat of the target by two stages.
Charm can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Flatter, Growl, Rest, Sweet Kiss, and Tail Whip to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn.
Generation VI onwards
Charm is now a Fairy-type move.
If powered up by a Fairium Z into Z-Charm, the user's Defense stat rises by one stage.

Charm reduces the enemy's Attack. Prior to Gates to Infinity, Charm cuts the Attack stat by ½, stacking up to 1/128, with this reduction being separate from stat stages. This characteristic is only shared with Aurora Beam and Memento. From Gates to Infinity onwards, the move reduces the Attack stat by two stages.

Monopoly: Pokémon Exclusive Kanto Edition
In the exclusive edition of Monopoly: Pokémon Kanto Edition, Charm is the Power Card belonging to Eevee. Once per game, during their turn, the player using Eevee may forcibly trade their lowest-valued property for an opponent's highest-valued property. If the opponent complains about the trade, the player using Eevee may take $100 from them in addition to their property. If either property involved in the trade has Poké Marts or a Pokémon Center built on them, the original owner of the property sells them back to the bank, receiving half the price of building them.

Trivia
- Charm is one of the four moves from Generation II to have its type changed in a later generation, the others being Curse, Moonlight, and Sweet Kiss.
- Excluding Curse, all of them were Normal-type moves that became Fairy-type moves in Generation VI.
- In Gold and Silver, Bulbasaur and Oddish are programmed to learn Charm as an Egg move, but there was no legitimate father to pass down this move. In Generations III and IV, both can inherit the move from the Shroomish evolutionary line by chain breeding; from Generation V onward, both can get this move directly from Cottonee.
- A similar situation occurs for Snorlax in Gold and Silver. In Generation III and IV, Snorlax was able to inherit the move from the Bulbasaur line by chain breeding; from Generation VI onward, Snorlax was able to inherit the move directly from the Tyrunt line.
