Web accessibility is about ensuring that everyone, including people with disabilities, such as visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments, is able to use and interact with websites and applications.
As part of the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030, the Commission committed to adopting an Action Plan on web accessibility in view of ensuring compliance of EU websites and apps with European accessibility standards.
As required for public sector websites in the Member States, all European Commission owned websites must include a functioning feedback mechanism.
The accessibility coordinators are the DG's first point of contact for all web accessibility matters.
