The rioters smashed the head of Eliezer Dan Slonim with an iron bar, and then murdered the Jews in the house while torturing them. [8] Apart from Slonim's wife and son, his father-in-law - Rabbi Avraham Yaakov Orlansky, rabbi of Zichron Yaacov and his wife - was also murdered. Only his one-year-old son, Shlomo, who was lying wounded under the corpses of his family, survived. The principal of the Tel Nordoi school in Tel Aviv, the author Chaim Eliezer Dubnikov and his wife, who came with their children on vacation in Hebron, were murdered by torture.
