Deutsch: Arcandor (ehemals KarstadtQuelle AG) war Europas größter Warenhaus- und Versandhandelskonzern mit Firmensitz in Essen. Dieser entstand 1999 durch die Zusammenführung der Karstadt AG (gegründet 1881) und der Quelle Schickedanz AG & Co. (gegründet 1927). 2007 wurde der Konzern in Arcandor umbenannt. Am 1. September 2009 wurde das Insolvenzverfahren eröffnet.
English: Arcandor (formerly KarstadtQuelle AG) was a German mail order and department store corporation, the largest in Europe. It was created in 1999 through the merger of Karstadt Warenhaus AG, which was founded in 1920, and Quelle Schickedanz AG & Co, founded in 1927. The company was renamed in Arcandor in 2007.
