English: Bhavnagar is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat. Founded in 1723 by Bhavsinhji Gohil (1703–1764) the city was named after its founder and ruler. It has been the capital of Bhavnagar State, which was the first princely state of India to merge with the Indian Constitution Indian Union in 1948.
தமிழ்: Bhavnagar ( குசராத்தி: ભાવનગર, ) இந்திய மாநிலமான குசராத்தில் உள்ள ஓர் மாநகரமாகும். கிபி 1723ஆம் ஆண்டில் மன்னர் பாவ்சிங்ஜி கோஹில்லால்(1703-64 ) கட்டப்பட்ட இந்த நகரத்திற்கு அவரது பெயரே இடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது பாவ்நகர் இராச்சியத்தின் தலைநகராக இருந்தது. 1948ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய ஒன்றியத்தின் அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு இணைந்த முதல் இராச்சியமாக பாவ்நகர் இராச்சியம் இருந்தது.
