English: East London Bus Ltd was incorporated on 7 August 2008 as a new bus operator in London. It was a wholly owned subsidiary of the East London Bus Group, who at the time also owned East London Bus & Coach Company Ltd. East London Bus Ltd was created to operate new buses purchased for the newly won route 248, from Rainham garage. Commencing on 27 September 2008, route 248 was the first route operated by an ELBG company to be based permanently at Rainham (having been bought by ELBG in 2007, the site was initially used as a temporary base for route 25 which had been displaced from Waterden road, and then as a maintenance base for the as yet unfinished West Ham garage). The site and buses were rebranded as Thameside from May 2009, using a logo comprising the Thameside name below a white curvy line in the shape of the river Thames. Further routes with new vehicles were added in January 2009 (372) and July 2009 (174). East London Bus Ltd passed into Stagecoach ownership when they purchased the ELBG in October 2010. The Thameside branding was phased out in favour of the corporate Stagecoach London livery, but the company has continued to win further routes, in March 2011 (287) and September 2013 (165, 252, 256 and 365).
