English: Holborn ( pronounced /ˈhəʊbən/ or /ˈhəʊbɜːn/ -- "ho bun") is a place in London, named after a tributary to the River Fleet that flowed through the area, the Hole-bourne (the stream in the hollow). Holborn is also the name of the area's principal east-west street, straddling the borders of the London Borough of Camden, the City of Westminster and the City of London.

Norsk bokmål: Holborn (utt. /ˈhəʊbən/ eller /ˈhəʊbɜːn/) er et sted i det sentrale London, mellom Soho og City of London. Navnet kommer trolig av Holebourne, en bekk som rant ut i elva Fleet. Holborn var en av de første forstedene utenfor Londons bymur. I løpet av 1800-tallet ble Holborn stadig mer overbefolket og preget av slum og forurensning, men en omfattende sanering fant sted mot slutten av århundret, bl.a. ved at den nye gaten Kingsway ble anlagt gjennom slummen.
