Drawings of Structural formulas can contain letters, in general very few capital letters or only one.
It may be useful to avoid the effort of embedding SVG text when drawing simple shaped letters,
and create instead short pathes for e.g. "F" "H", "N" (simple strokes) or "O" (simple ellipse/circle).

The font style of such letters is not of great importance, as long as it can be read easily.
For embedding, simple instructions are sufficient, as e.g. 

<text font-family="Arial" font-size="9" x="295" y="189">S</text>

or 

<text font-family="Arial" font-size="11" x="156" y="78">O<tspan x="212">H</tspan></text>

Of course for chemistry symbol letters no translation is possible!
