Categorization

Redundant Category

 Not done Redundancy is not necessarily a bad thing. It being listed in multiple places increases the chance of someone noticing and apply categories. Uncategorized although there is a cat

Hi, File:Langestr. 8 (Grimma).jpg got this template, although there is a regular cat. It's the regular cultural-heritage-monuments-cat Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Grimma.

This cat was added into the information-template between description and date.

The file was uploaded via Campaign:wlm-de-sn. If the uploader doesn't know a specific cultural-heritage-monuments-cat like "Chuch XY", he has to fill in the town where the cultural heritage monument is situated. The uploader filled "Grimma" for the town in this case. And the campaign created this cultural-heritage-monuments-cat. This cat was put into the information-template.

This problem occurs escpecially at WLM, when these campaigns are used. Can you fix the problem that the Uncategorized-template doesn't recognize Cats in the information-template (Or maybe you can fix the problem in the campaign :-)) Greetings --Z ^thomas 17:18, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

I guess, if a further cat is added via the campaign (for example the street-cat or year-cat) the Uncategorized-templated isn't added --Z ^thomas 05:26, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi Z, It is not a setting in the upload campaigns so far I know that this template is added. Previously a bot ran to mark newly uploaded files as uncategorised. Now the developers seemed to have integrated this in the upload software itself. Romaine (talk) 12:18, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
